To a true friend
Dear Ian,
Your passing did not surprise me but the amount of tears and hurt in my heart really shows me what a truly remarkable person you were in my life and what an influence you had.
It has was in 2008 we met for the first time and who would have thought you could have a really strong and wonderful relationship from so far away.
You touched everyone in my family, all my work colleagues who knew you and especially me.
You have walked up that mountain for the very last time and I am sure you looked back and said to yourself what a wonderful life I have lived, full of adventures and great friendships.
You never seemed to pity yourself and say why me, but were an example of the positive outlook on life and how a simple life could bring you so much joy.
You have finally rid yourself from the pain of this mortal life and the disease that so cruelly cut short your 53 years on this earth, but if there is a god, I know you will sitting next to him advising him what to do next and making sure he crosses the t's and dots the i's - it wouldn't be a good contract otherwise.
Rest in peace my friend and I will hopefully meet you on the other side.
Great memories that will stand the test of time.
